At Kefalonia Horse Riding Stable, horse riding lessons are designed to be more than simply learning how to ride. We believe riding begins with understanding horses, building trust and creating a genuine connection between horse and rider.
Our lessons are designed for children, teenagers and adults of different experience levels, from complete beginners taking their first steps around horses to riders wishing to improve confidence, technique and overall riding skills. Every lesson is adapted according to the rider's experience, confidence and personal goals, creating a safe, enjoyable and meaningful learning environment.

Training Structure & Facilities
For us, horsemanship begins before mounting the horse
Students are encouraged to become part of the process and spend time around the horses before the lesson itself begins. Depending on the lesson and rider level, the experience may include: meeting and becoming familiar with the horse, basic grooming and preparation, learning about tack and equipment, basic horse handling, understanding horse behaviour, and simple communication with the horse.
We believe riders become more confident and capable when they understand not only riding itself but also the horse behind the experience.
Our lessons are adapted according to rider experience and individual goals.
Beginner Riders: learning basic riding skills, balance and confidence development, understanding horse behaviour, communication with the horse.
Intermediate Riders: improving position and rider effectiveness, transitions and control, confidence and technical development, riding exercises and skill progression.
Advanced Riders: more personalised training, refinement of riding technique, development according to specific riding goals, focused riding progression.
Depending on rider level and objectives, lessons may include: arena riding lessons, balance and position work, rein control and communication, transitions and riding exercises, groundwork exercises, outdoor riding experiences where appropriate, dressage exercises, show jumping exercises, carriage driving lessons and introduction to horse driving principles, and confidence building. As riders progress, lessons may gradually become more personalised according to their development and objectives.
Our lessons take place in an environment designed to support both rider development and horse wellbeing.
Our facilities and learning opportunities include a 30 x 50 riding arena, outdoor riding environments, countryside experiences, practical horsemanship sessions, horse handling and groundwork. Our goal is to create a learning environment where riders can gradually build confidence and skills through both structured lessons and practical experiences around horses.
For riders seeking additional opportunities for learning and development, we also organize clinics and specialised educational sessions. Areas may include: Dressage clinics, Show Jumping clinics, Horsemanship sessions, Practical riding development, Specialised learning experiences, and Carriage driving clinics.
We also participate in international equestrian learning opportunities and educational platforms designed to connect riders and horse enthusiasts with broader experiences within the equestrian world.
Volunteers and internship participants may also have the opportunity to book riding lessons, horsemanship sessions and clinics with trainers with competitive experience, including Balkan-level coaching experience.
Our teaching approach combines patience, communication and respect for both horse and rider.
We believe learning should happen through understanding and confidence rather than pressure. Our goal is not only to improve riding skills but also to help riders build meaningful relationships with horses and gain a deeper understanding of horsemanship.

Experienced rider, new skills
I learned to ride at a young age, at a BHS approved riding school in the UK, went on to join pony club in my region. I have ridden many horses confidently. However there is always more to learn from a good instructors and this my experience of Padelis. He has high standards and you will perfect your rising skills as learn new skills. When I was here, I had not been riding for a few years so it was very good to be taught structured lessons in good practice and have positive constructive criticism. The bond between Padelis and his horses is impressively strong and his life’s work is to understand them and care for them. Highly recommended

Horse riding lessons
Having taken lessons for over two years in Kefalonia Horse-riding Stables I have to say that I gained a lot of experience both through arena exercises and also through outdoor riding environments. In each lesson you get to know the horse you are riding by preparing it for your lesson, a procedure which helps you understand some of the basics of horsemanship and preparation and is not offered in every horse club. The teacher has got years of experience which can get you to the details of horse riding if you wish and every horse is trained properly to accept on the saddle even the most amateur rider.
