The Sunset Ride is designed for visitors who want to enjoy Kefalonia at a slower pace, as the light becomes softer and the temperatures cooler. The route may combine countryside trails, olive groves, forest paths, coastal scenery and panoramic sunset viewpoints around Sami, creating a relaxed riding experience focused on nature, horses and the quiet beauty of the island.

The Sunset Ride invites you to slow down and experience Kefalonia through light, landscape and horses.
As the day becomes cooler and the evening light softens, this experience creates a calmer rhythm away from the busier hours of the island. The route may pass through olive groves, forest paths, countryside landscapes, coastal scenery, beach areas around Sami or panoramic viewpoints where the sunset colours spread across the mountains and coastline.
Before the ride begins, guests are invited to spend time with the horses and participate in the preparation. This may include meeting the horse, basic grooming, getting familiar with the equipment, receiving a short riding introduction and learning simple guidance for communication with the horse.
Depending on the schedule, guests may occasionally join us as we bring the horses in from the fields before preparing for the ride. These first moments often become one of the most memorable parts of the experience, creating a stronger connection before the journey begins.
Guests are also welcome to spend optional time with the horses after returning from the ride, making the experience feel more personal and complete.

Essential Requirements
- Riding level Suitable for beginners, families, couples, intermediate and experienced riders.
- Mandatory Attire: Long pants and closed-toe riding or athletic shoes are required.
- Strictly Forbidden: Sandals, flip-flops, loose scarves, pareos or clothing that may interfere with riding are not allowed.
- Safety Policy: The final route and pace are always decided by the guide according to rider level, group composition, weather and the horses’ wellbeing.

- Meeting Point: Kefalonia Horse Riding Stable (Please arrive 30 minutes early).
- Departure: Late afternoon / sunset departure.
- Level: Suitable for beginners, couples, families and intermediate riders.
- Duration: Approximately 2 hours riding time.

- Weather: Cancellations occur only in case of severe/unsafe weather conditions.
Please note: Riding pace and the overall structure of the experience are adapted according to rider experience, confidence, group composition and safety conditions in order to create a safe and enjoyable experience for both riders and horses. More personalised riding experiences for confident and experienced riders may also be available upon request.
Booking & Cancellation Policy
- A 30% deposit is required to confirm the reservation.
- Guests may cancel free of charge up to 7 days before the scheduled experience.
- Cancellations made less than 7 days before the experience are non-refundable.
Please note: The experience begins with horse preparation and guest participation in the grooming and saddling process. Once horse preparation has started, the experience is considered active and no refunds can be issued.
